KORN
Korn is a nu-metal band that helped develop metal by bringing in their own mysterious and ominous music style. The band consists of 4 main members, lead vocalist Jonathan Davis, bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, lead guitarist James “Munky” Sheffield and drummer Ray Luzier. After the release of the album “Follow The Leader,” Korn kept growing and received two Grammys and well as two MTV Video Music Awards. Korn has now become one of the most influential bands today in our industry.
Korn are always known to try something new every album. They started out by mixing hip-hop beats along thrash metal guitar riffs and vocals. They, later on, focused on more faster vocals as they were trying to bring different elements of rap. In 2011 they decided to create an album alongside dubstep producer ‘Skrillex.’ The usual metal fans were not too happy with the electronic elements included so Korn decided to make their music even heavier than ever. Since then Korn have won multiple awards on almost every album, single and music video.
In 2016 Korn released their 12th studio album “The Serenity of Suffering.” The album was a throwback as it included many of the band members signature sounds that they used when they first started. Jonathan Davis was known for his scat that he did during the song “Freak on a Leash” which was released in 1998. He repeated the same theme in the latest album which helped the record grow larger and larger. Now Korn have made their mark as legends of Metal and one of the biggest influences of today.
